Volunteer Position - Partnership Development Coordinator

Objective:
  • Develop regional foundation partnerships for Cinematheque Waterloo. Work includes identifying and researching prospects, developing proposals, presentations and collateral materials, negotiating and closing partnerships to secure grant opportunities.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify, research and prioritize prospective foundation partners.
  • Develop and prepare proposals, presentations and collateral materials.
  • Ability to initiate cold calls, stay abreast of current news and trends in community development philanthropy and cultivate relationships directly or assist program staff to make introductions to program officers and secure meetings with decision makers.
  • Conduct partnership opportunities presentations.
  • During cultivation and presentation phase of grant seeking process, serve as primary liaison between partner organization and Cinematheque Waterloo.
  • Negotiate grant opportunities and close grant awards.
  • Maintain a current and active database of client contacts and prospects.
Time and Place:
  • Meetings as scheduled – flexible hours

Training and Orientation:
  • Meet with assigned staff and other volunteers.
Qualifications:
  • Over 18, or if between 12 and 18, in the accompaniment of a responsible adult over 18.
  • Responsible, friendly and diplomatic.
  • Able to work closely with program staff and with other volunteers.
  • Able to keep accurate records.
